About Lynn
Growing up amidst the whispering forests of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lynn discovered her artistic voice not in a studio, but among the graceful shapes and patterns hidden in the woods. This deep, early reverence for the natural world followed her to East Carolina University, where she first explored form through clay, before becoming completely transfixed by the malleable, alchemical qualities of precious metal. Under the guidance of master professors, she began learning how to listen to the materials—discovering how raw metal and precious stones could be intricately woven together to tell a deeper story.
After earning her BFA, Lynn refined her touch as an apprentice to a renowned goldsmith in Hillsborough, learning the patient art of forging metal into fluid, graceful lines. A pivotal workshop with ancient goldsmithing master Jean Stark sparked a lifelong obsession with the strength and beauty of Byzantine design. For Lynn, the slow, meditative process of hand-weaving chain became a way to infuse jewelry with both structural permanence and a quiet, intricate soul.
Her path eventually came full circle. Melding her vast experience as a designer, master stone buyer, and luxury jewelry executive, she established her creative sanctuary in Oakland, California. Here, Lynn K Designs rejects the noise of mass production to create jewelry that resonates with the human spirit. Working in her studio with rich 18k royal gold, platinum, textured silver, and responsibly sourced gemstones, Lynn hand-fabricates each heirloom-quality piece completely from scratch, one singular piece at a time. Her clean architectural silhouettes and rich, hand-applied textures are designed to glow quietly, illuminating the intrinsic beauty of the wearer.
